Film Reviews & Headlines

The hills are alive with the sound of music with songs they have sung, for a thousand years the hills fill my heart with the sound of music my heart wants to sing every song it hears. my heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds that rise from the lake to the trees. my heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies from a church on a breeze to laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over stones on it’s way. to sing through the night, like a lark who is learning to pray. I go to the hills, when my heart is lonely. I know I will hear what I’ve heard before. My heart will be blessed with the sound of music. Hope you enjoyed! I.M.A.

  1. Divine, simply Divine ❤️ No other movie will beat TSOM. Julie is a gift from the Gods ❤️❤️❤️

  2. When I first watched The Sound of Music I had no idea it turned into a Nazi movie like halfway through.

  3. For any movie music fans out there, the original music soundtrack was issued in Stereo (lp and tape) by RCA Records (1965), and later re-mixed for true 4 channel Quad sound, issued as Quad lp and Quad 8 track tape in the 1970's.

  4. this is the kind of film, this is the kind of music, this is the kind of song, this is the kind of voice , this is the kind of woman, this is the kind of aRT, this is the kind of decency and heart that HONEST LIFE IS MADE OF. (lady get out of here is what? who? she will NEVER be able to even TOUCH Julie Andrews' integrity.)

  5. I'm passing through the hills of North Dakota, my ride wont let me out to sing this on the hills! So I came here lol!

  6. Passei anos procurando essa música pra descobrir que era a Júlie Andrews cantando bem debaixo do meu nariz

  8. https://youtu.be/_FX_guDVt3g that’s my version. This is my most influential film to date 💜🎶 Julie Andrews is an inspiration!

  9. This is just AWESOME!!! I was just a a kid when I first heard this and later became an 80s metal head/90s Grunge rocker, but this stands the test of time!! Thanks for posting!

  10. Ohhhh Julie Andrews you a heaven sent angel when I was a kid I used to play this vhs until it was broken

  11. I've been watching this film since I was about 2, I love it to the point where I know the songs better than my own name
Julie Andrews is amazing, it's so sad that she can't sing anymore, cuz of her operation 🙁
If she sang now, even after the op, she'd still be miles better than anyone else singing this song or singing any song from this film

  12. I love this to pieces ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  13. This bitch is on some White Privilege. If Zi ran around fields singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music", you better believe Zi would be put in a mental institution.

  14. The first movie my dad ever saw as a little boy was The Sound of Music. He still remembers how special it was watching this opening scene on the big screen in a grand old cinema. Jealous.

  15. I called her Do Deer as a three year old ( because of the song she sings) and this was one of the only movies I would watch as a kid. I am happy this is the movie I grew up on and not mind numbing cartoons like Boss Baby.

  16. Julie Andrews said that she revisited the exact place some years later and impulsively burst out singing this song, she then said she turned around and there were some Japanese tourists just standing there staring at her, she swore this was the truth.

  17. The most classic film opening of all time! It just brings tears to my eyes! They just don't make movies like this anymore! Today's movie are nothing but trash!

  18. I ordered a Blu Ray copy of this movie from amazon for my sister's birthday. When I received the package, there was no Blu Ray in the package. After contacting Amazon about the issue, and the representative claimed that she was a big Sound of Music fan, my only guess is whoever was supposed to package the item must have also been a big Sound of Music fan and that he/she must have gotten so immersed with singing this song out on a mountain side that he/she forgot to put the Blu Ray in the package before shipping it.

  19. I will never be able to listen to this song with a straight face again. I was watching clips of Paul Lynde from the original "Hollywood Squares," and Paul was asked if it was true or false that there was a new bra on the market that squeaked in musical tones. Paul started singing, "The hills are alive," and everyone broke down laughing. By the way, the answer was true.

  20. I remember I was a freshman in high school watching this movie for my music appreciation class and I thought it was going to be boring but boy was I wrong! This movie was amazing and that’s when I started liking musical movies/films.❤️❤️

  21. Faithfully watched this every year at thanksgiving or Christmas along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my brother ❤️🤦🏼‍♀️ actually used the song she walked down the aisle to the captain in my wedding
