ever to be a nominated for an Academy Award an honor traditionally given
mostly to films from Europe or the United States the Academy Awards are
chosen by members of the u.s. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
comprising some 8,000 movie directors actors and filmmakers parasite has
already won numerous awards and rave reviews from outside critics noting that
parasite has a 99% fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes the Los
Angeles Times reported Monday the particular reason why parasite said
delivers an original and entertaining approach to class differences a theme
that also ran through many other competitive films the report cited Times
critic Justin Chang as deviously and entertaining and a thriller of
extraordinary cunning and emotional force qualities that have helped propel
it to win hundreds of millions of US dollars at the worldwide box office
parasite has already been chosen as Best Picture by the Los Angeles Film Critics
and the National Society of Film Critics earlier this month the Hollywood Foreign
Press Association gave it a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film
