  1. Julia would have been fantastic in this part. She's such an amazing actress. Her approach to the character would have brought a fresh perspective not chained to what a black actress would bring to the part. Sad it didn't happen.

  2. If Julia Roberts can play Harriet Tubman than Forest Whitaker can play king Henri VIII and Denzel Washington can play king Louis XIV.

  3. I've hard of revisionist history but if they were going to continue slavery in the movie until 1949 I guess they were going to make Harriet Tubman a vampire so at the point why not turn her white and let Roberts play her.

  4. Being from Maryland, Harriet Tubman was Incredible and I read her Life story at an all white school back in the sixties, Julia Roberts portraying Harriet Tubman….F-UCK NO!

  5. Casting Julia Roberts to play Harriet Tubman makes about as much sense as casting a black girl to play a white mermaid from a Danish fairy tale written in the 1800s by a white guy.

  6. "It was so long ago that nobody will even remember…"

There's pictures of Tubman you dumbass. Why do white producers expect their audience to be just as dumb as they are?

  7. To be quite honest as a Black man from Maryland, if Julia Roberts playing Harriet Tubman would've cause enough controversy to stop slavery movies from being Hollywood's go to source for showcasing Black history, I'll take it. I'm tired of slave movies.

  8. Let's face it, Juilia would not have been able to stand as a black woman in REAL LIFE continuously running from dogs and hating white guys with guns in the woods in the dark. 😆 Executive need a freeze pill. She would need a black double to stand in. …Hence, just use the black stand in… 😆 ACTION…
