Will Doctor Sleep keep teens up with nonstop
nightmares? Maybe not. But it’s still plenty creepy. This sequel to Stephen King’s horror classic
The Shining follows Danny Torrance, now an alcoholic and a drifter, as he struggles
with ghosts from his past and present. As you might expect, the movie has some intense
violence, and much of it’s directed at kids. “Get out of my head! Get out!” There’s lots of screaming, some disturbing
deaths, guns and shooting, plus bloody wounds, a sexual predator, and
more. Be ready for a fair bit of swearing, too, as well as kissing and nudity that’s more scary than sexy. The main character vomits and passes out from
too much alcohol, often waking up in unfamiliar places. Common Sense says Doctor Sleep is OK for teens
16 and up. To read our full review and tell us what you
